It's not compulsory to change your name when you get married (I got my husband to change his name to mine :) )

I understand the timing.. but as far as I know, it shouldn't matter.

There is no minimum amount of time you need to have a name to have it used. 1 hour , 40 hours or 40 years. i see no difference.

How much time should pass before history refers to her in her married name?

Just something I have always pondered.
