Seeing as it's been ages since yahoo shut the user rooms, I was wondering if anyone knew of any alternative that was similar or as good, or just a good chatroom site.

Not sure if I understood you well, but there is very nice channel called #blackwhitesex on Undernet (IRC).

Use mIRC to join Undernet server. Also this is their Yahoo group: Link Removed
